The Public Safety Workers Bill is a bill that has been presented to Congress to give leverage to those law
enforcement and first response agencies, such as firefighters and EMT's, for collective barganing for better pay. The bill
would also enable members of theose fields to collectively bargain for better working conditions and job place equity. The
bill, HR980, was fought for long and hard by the Teamters, getting cosponsorship from 210 democrats and 70 rebublicans.
I personaly know a California Fish and Game Warden and a CHP officer. The Game Warden was required to go to college and makes about $60,000 a year. The CHP officer on the
other hand has a highschool diploma and makes around $90,000 a year. With a new collective barganing agrement for Public workers,
Game wardens will be able to petition for higher pay.
